Risk and spectacle
Siegel is the page where underworld money tries to become glamour: casinos, desert myth, celebrity, and catastrophic exposure.
Siegel shows how image can launder power in the imagination. Hotels, gambling, nightlife, and celebrity make force appear polished, almost civic, as if a violent economy can be hidden behind lights and velvet.
The strategic lesson is that legitimacy is partly visual. People trust what looks established, expensive, and inevitable.
Glamour is not redemption. Siegel belongs here because spectacle can make disorder look beautiful while the moral accounting keeps building underneath.
